I began my discernment journey around my sophomore year of high school with a new-found love and interest in my faith. I hate to say, I mechanically practiced my faith for much of my life until this time when I realized the meaning behind this faith. I distinctly remember a Mass where I completely and entirely dedicated my thoughts towards the Crown of Thorns. I sat, in what seemed like an empty church, imagining the pain and suffering of this ornament of royalty. What is normally a great show of power is transformed into humility and a great sacrifice.
