JACOB HARTMAN

I joined a youth group in my sophomore year of high school that inspired me to start taking my faith life seriously. I started going to daily Mass a couple of times a week and attending local retreats. I attended a week long service retreat the summer before my junior year, and on the last day during Adoration, I felt called to the priesthood. I repressed the thought of a potential call to the priesthood for months until the end of my junior year when I decided that I needed to seriously discern where the Lord was calling me. After several months of prayer and discernment, I answered the call to enter seminary after graduating from high school.

Favorite Quote or Bible Verse

“I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship.  Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.” – Romans 12:1-2
