Reverend Jesudoss Thomas
I was born and grew up in the South-East part of India. I completed my schooling and seminary education in Chennai, India and was ordained a priest in 1993 for the Diocese of Vellore, India, where I held various responsibilities: Parochial Vicar (1993), Vice Rector of Minor Seminary (1994-1995), Secretary to the Bishop of Vellore (1996-1997), Rector of the Diocesan Minor Seminary (1998), and Pastor of Our Lady of Good Health, Vellore (1996-2001). During that time, I also earned decrees in Master of Education (M. Ed) and Master of Arts (M.A) from the University of Chennai, India.
I came to the Diocese of Tyler, Texas, in June 2001. Before joining here at the Holy Trinity Seminary in August 2016 as one of the resident Spiritual Directors, I worked in various parishes: St. Michael’s Church in Mount Pleasant; St. Francis of Assisi in Gilmer; St. Mary’s Catholic Campus Ministry (SFA), Nacogdoches; St. Matthew Church in Longview; and St. William of Vercelli in Carthage. I earned my Decree in Spirituality (STL) at Dominican House of Studies, in Washington, D.C. I also served as co-vocation director in the Diocese of Tyler for six years.
In the last 25 years of my priestly life, the good Lord has blessed me with many graces and opportunities to serve various people under various responsibilities. I am extremely grateful to God for his unconditional love and mercy, which sustains me daily in my priesthood.
