MIGUEL AGUSTÍN PAGÁN
I often compare my vocation story with how the prophet Elijah heard the voice of God: in “a still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12). I have a very simple vocation story, unlike some of my fellow seminarians who have a very profound and captivating narrative. I have felt a pull to the priesthood and a special call to holiness since I was around seven years old. Conscious of this feeling and of my own desire for the priesthood, I began to pray in order to tune into God’s voice. The more I prayed, the more I felt at peace with entering seminary. After many meetings with my spiritual director, some anxious days, and discussions with my family, I decided to apply to seminary. Looking back at my discernment for the priesthood, I have discovered the importance of prayer. Each day, I will recall the lessons that I have learned from my discernment.
