Annual Pig Roast

The seminarians’ annual pig roast was held on Saturday, April 13 despite the heavy rain. Started by seminarians from the Diocese of Charleston several years ago, this annual gathering is one of the seminarians’ favorite spring events. In addition to preparing and then feasting on pigs roasted on the pit, the seminarians spent the day play games indoors and relaxing.

Members of the Sociedad Guadalupana Dallas celebrated Mass with the seminarians on Sunday, January 27 and presented a check in the amount of $6,600 to Holy Trinity Seminary.  This gift was funded by proceeds from their annual raffle, which they hold in conjuction with their annual conference. Seminarians Observe 40 Hours Solemn Devotion

The seminarians prepared themselves for Lent on the weekend of February 22 – 24 during the annual 40 Hours Solemn Devotion.  Throughout the weekend, the Blessed Sacrament was exposed as seminarians adored and kept watch for three days around the clock.  This beautiful devotion began and ended with processions throughout the seminary, accompanied by bells and incense.

Andrew Darling, Scott Johnson and Bryce Baumann, all seminarians from the Diocese of Dallas, are spending their summer in Antigua, Guatemala in a Spanish immersion program.  Shortly after arriving, they participated in a three-hour long procession with the Blessed Sacrament led by Archbishop Nicolas Thevenin, Apostolic Nuncio to Guatemala.  They will also be ministering to those affected by the volcano eruption.
