I did not grow up Christian, so in high school I was a staunch atheist. During my time at Texas Tech University though, I wanted to be more open minded. I joined a Baptist group and read the Bible for the first time and became Protestant. However, as I learned more about Christianity, I found that the Catholic Church is the Church that Jesus Himself established, and I converted. I began seriously discerning marriage but after a few years, during my first semester of working as a high school teacher, I felt God call me to discern priesthood.
