Reverend Luke Turner, O.S.B.
A native of Kansas and a monk of St. Benedict’s Abbey (Atchison, KS), I was ordained in 2019 by Bishop Kevin Vann. I am in Dallas to help my mother transition in her move from California to Dallas – the Dallas area is also home to my brother and a sister and their families. I arrived in the Diocese of Dallas in July 2022 and served this past year as Parochial Vicar for St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from Rockhurst University and also an MBA and MA. I first entered St. Benedict’s Abbey in 1981 and discerned some years later that I was not ready to make a lifelong commitment – but returned to the Abbey in 2010. Before returning to the Abbey, I enjoyed a corporate career with both Hallmark Cards and MasterCard International. I have taught in the School of Business at Benedictine College which is sponsored by the monks of St. Benedict’s Abbey. I was assigned as Director of College Ministry while also serving as Director of the Thompson Center for Integrity in Finance and Economics, both at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. I carry several responsibilities for the Benedictine American Cassinese Congregation in addition to serving on the Order’s Finance Council at the request of the Abbot Primate in Rome. I have been assigned as resident Spiritual Director of the Propaedeutic Program at Holy Trinity Seminary effective July 1, 2023.
